1.) One of my favorite movies! And it comes with new bonus features! Includes:
· ‘Once Upon A Parade’ (Starring Sarah Hyland) - Behind every attraction, event and parade at the Magic Kingdom is a unique story.
· Art of Evil: Generations Of Disney Villains – This legacy piece spotlights Disney’s favorite villain animator, Marc Davis and his infamous creations of characters such as Maleficent and Cruella. Throughout the piece, we will talk to modern day animators like Andreas Deja and also the new generation of Animators (Lino DiSalvo Animation Director of FROZEN) on how Marc’s designs and characters influenced what they do today.
· @DisneyAnimation: ARTISTS IN MOTION (Extended Edition) - Join Walt Disney Animation Visual Development artist Brittney Lee as she goes through the process of creating a three dimensional sculpture of Maleficent, completely out of paper. In this extended edition, go deeper into Britney’s process

2.) This is one of my favorite Disney movies. I love the Tchaikovsky music heard throughout and the beauty of the animation and artwork. The beautiful Mary Costa sings her heart out as Princess Aurora/Briar Rose. When I was a girl I had paper dolls of these characters and an album of Sleeping Beauty by Pyotr Tchaikovsky to listen to while I played. I even named my first child Aurora. So yes, I definitely love this movie.
This version is just as beautiful as I remembered it and it includes extras of a short on the Fantasy Parade and also the background on the input of the designers and animators as well as some of the actors. It also includes some story boards on different ways the story could go as well as some live action sequences the animators used to draw the characters. It comes to about a full 3 hours of movie and extras for this price.
If you are a member of Disney Anywhere you will get 150 points to spend towards your next Disney purchase.
I am a true fan and think this story holds up today with the evil Maleficent becoming the Dragon and the wonderful fairy godmothers, Fauna, Flora and Meriwether. These characters are pure Disney and will be remembered.

3.) Most of us know this fairy tale because of Walt Disney's animated cartoon. But there are so many ways for your children to experience it. I looked for picture books (at a very affordable price through Amazon's used book sales). There was more than one adaptation with beautiful art work and variations on the theme to share with the children. Sleeping Beauty is also a beautiful ballet. Your can find and excellent performance by world reknown ballet troups through the Amazon used tape or DVD outlet at a really affordable price. Or more than one to show how different choreographers, set designers, composers, etc. vary the theme. What little girl doesn't want to put on a tutu and dance. Again, affordable tutus through Amazon.
This particular old tape was as much fun for me to view as to introduce to the children. Afterward we watched the Disney animation. My grandchildren decided they like the live performance better. Who knew?!

1.) Description (Editorial Reviews)

Disney's classic story of Peter Pan is back. Join Peter Pan and Tinker Bell in this family film as they take three small children on an adventure of their lives. 2.) Special Features

I can't express enough how much I love this movie. The kids love it as well, but I think I may love it more. Other reviews talk of what it's about, a selkie girl and a journey her brother takes her on to help her become who she is and keep alive the magic of the stories they grew up with. But there's such emotion in this movie that cannot truly be captured with words. The family is torn apart when they lose their mother, and with their fathers grief, the children are left to fend for themselves. The kids are sent to live with their grandmother and only when trying to run away home, does the adventure start for them. The beginning shows a grieving, almost neglectful father, a little boy who's angry at the world and his sister. And a little girl who's desperate for love and the acceptance of her brother. As the story goes on, the boy becomes less angry, less resentful, and more loving toward his sister. He begins to understand that nothing that happened in their lives was ever her fault, and becomes her leader, her protector and her support system. Characters in the movie mirror each other. The grieving giant turned to stone mirrors their father, and the owl witch mirrors their grandmother, only trying to help but hurting everyone in the process. It ends in a happy way for all, and God bless you if you don't shed a tear.

1.) We folk of the Emerald Isle don't get to watch a lot of children's entertainment from our own fair country. So when I learned that the folks behind the beguiling and utterly beautiful The Secret of Kells were making The Song of the Sea, a magical fairy tale steeped in Irish folklore and mythology...I knew I had to see it as soon as possible. I was not disappointed! The Song of the Sea is a magical, poetic, moving, and beautiful little tale that will entrance children without talking down to them. The visuals are stylized and rich, and just plain beautiful. More importantly, Song of the Sea has got a big heart and lots of charm.

The story goes like this: Ben and Saoirse (said seer-sha) live in a lighthouse with their father Conor. One night, Saoirse is taken into the ocean by seals, where it's revealed she's a selkie: a magical being that takes the form of a seal in the sea. When Ben and Saoirse are sent to live with their grandmother in the city, they must step up to face their inner fears and complete a task to keep the magic stories alive.

I recommend this magical film to kids and adults alike. Come and share in the wonders of Ireland.
As they say in Gaelic, go raibh míle maith agat!

2.) Song of the Sea is a G-rated animated fantasy based on an Irish myth, but don't let the G-rating or the fantasy descriptives fool you into thinking the movie doesn't deal with real drama and real life emotions. Unlike so many other G-rated kids' fantasies, particularly the ones that come out of Hollywood -- and, believe me, I do like those, some of them quite a bit (Robots, Wall-E, etc) -- Song of the Sea doesn't fall back on cliches or formulae. It isn't afraid to get deeper into a kid's head. While the delivery vehicle is one of Earth-bound spirits and their savior child born to one of their own, the story follows a path of loss, fear, misdirected anger, despair, illness, and, ultimately, understanding, sacrifice and heroics.

I watched this with my eight year old granddaughter, and she was mesmerized. After the movie, we had a chance to talk about how one deals with being sad. Pretty heavy stuff for an eight year old, but the movie made the conversation easier.

Technically, the movie is beautiful. It's artful and visually inventive. It looks hand drawn.

The movie has some very sad and anxiety-producing undertones. However, it's mostly this incredible adventure that this little girl and her older brother find themselves on; it's an adventure made more exciting by the real-life consequences of failing to succeed.

3.) This is the first movie we took our 4.5 year old twins to see in a movie theater. My husband and I are huge fans of Secret of Kells, but feel it is a little bit too violent for 4.5 year olds so we were very excited when Song of the Sea was released. As we sat in the theater we were a little bit concerned that the material might be too dark for our children, but as soon as we left the theater they asked to see it again.

My husband and I found the film visually and thematically exquisite and one doesn't need an understanding or appreciation of Celtic mythology to love it. The music is dreamy and the pace is a refreshing change from the overstimulating fare that abounds in our culture. While we were watching the movie, all of us were swept away by it. And, entertaining as it was, it also sparked meaningful discussions. A remarkable film.

Thank you Tomm Moore!

The Wild Life DVD

1.) Description (Editorial Reviews)

From the over-exuberant parrot Mak to the snack-obsessed tapir Rosie, from the persnickety echidna Epi to the acrobatic pangolin Pango, from the ditzy goat Scrubby to the commonsensical kingfisher Kiki and the always-cool chameleon Carmello, things are larger-than-life on a tropical isle that is pure wild animal paradise. Then Robinson Crusoe, a marooned human, arrives in the midst of a furious storm, and their lives are forever changed by this bewildering new “creature.” No matter their differences, castaway human and quirky animals embark on an hilarious new adventure, building the island’s first tree-house and surviving together. But when two conniving members of the animal kingdom — the savage cats Mal & May – pounce into a battle for control of the island, Crusoe and his animal posse must uncover the true power of friendship against all odds (even savage cats).

Rated PG for mild action/peril and some rude humor.

1.) I watched a few episodes of The Garfield Show. The CGI was neat, but Garfield was out of character and most of the gags fell flat! The live action Garfield movies suffered from similar problems. Although, Bill Murray was a good choice for the voice of Garfield. I've been a Garfield fan ever since I was a 2 year old sucking on a bottle. I once had a Garfield birthday cake. In the 1980's, plush Garfield toys that stick to your car window were trendy. Garfield was created by cartoonist Jim Davis in the late 1970's. Garfield TV specials were adapted for network TV in the 1980's. Actor Lorenzo Music was Garfield! When we think of Garfield's "voice", we think of his voice. In the comics, Odie joined the cast when Jon's friend Lyman left him at his house. The humor in the Garfield comics is dry and sardonic. They poke fun of Mondays, fad diets, popular movies, con artists, etc. The look of Garfield, Jon and Odie has been refined over the years. Garfield and Friends was a great Saturday morning cartoon on CBS. It lasted from 1988-1993. It delivered in quality and quantity. The show was filled with US Acres cartoons. In England, US Acres is known as "Orson's Farm". The music on Garfield and Friends is good considering the limited budget.
I like the episode where Garfield and Odie dance to polka music on the sidewalk. It makes little sense, but it's funny!
In another episode, Jon, Odie, and Garfield have no place to hide from a B grade creature feature. The bad creature feature is also being shown on a Spanish language channel! The US Acres cartoons are almost as fun as Garfield. They spoofed everything from Star Trek to James Bond. It took me years to find out that Nermal was a male kitten voice by a female. In some dubbed versions, Nermal is refered to as "She"! Garfield and Friends(1988-1993) presented Garfield in his purest, true form.

2.) Garfield & Friends shines as the so-called "Silver Age" of Garfield...never understood how this was the Silver Age, as the Golden Age was the older, saggy Garfield and included a number of forgettable characters. Volume Two of the series has a number of memorable cartoons. As with all the G&F volumes, the US Acres segments are hit-or-miss; usually episodes with songs in them are "miss", while the others are pretty good stuff. The Garfield episodes, however, contain voicing from Pat Buttram (voice of the Sheriff of Nottingham in Disney's "Robin Hood" & Napoleon in "The Aristocats") and a number of other classic cartoon voice actors. These episodes have started coming out in digital format, but they're inexplicably slow to release (legalese and reproduction arguments with PAWS, Inc. are the usual suspects), so I highly recommend getting these DVDs before they're impossible to find.

3.) Ah, this is the same great cartoon I remember from childhood. Please note that this is not an HD version, so it initially seemed a little "off" compared to the crisp picture we are accustomed to seeing on big-screen HD televisions these days. After a few minutes, however, one recalls that the picture is exactly like it was when the episodes originally aired, adding to the feeling of nostalgia. I am so glad this video collection is available so I can share the "original" Garfield with my children.

Customer Review

1.) I had to give a review because of the people giving this movie bad reviews or saying that it has problems. I will say right off the bat that this movie is not "amazing", it's not some ground breaking new animated film like Frozen. However, this movie has all the classic things you look for in a good animated movie like The Lion King.

I don't want to give much of the story away, but for the most parts it's the same cliche, the little dinosaur on his way back to his family after a tragic event makes it through a series of trials on his journey home. So, yes it's been done, over and over and over and it's still great. This movie takes that and creates a deep, emotional bond between you and the characters in the movie.

My 5 year old absolutely loved it along with the adults. I'm a grown ass man and cried 4 times during the movie. I didn't cry during The Lion King and it was a GREAT movie. That is worth something! So, this movie doesn't break the barrier on story-telling, but the delivery is intense and creates an immediate emotional attachment to the characters. If you're grown and don't cry you need an MRI to see if your heart is still present.

2.) This was one weird movie! If you have ever wondered what life on earth would be like had the dinosaurs NOT been wiped out by an asteroid, this movie may be your answer!

The barking human named Spot. Wha??? The terror of the father getting swept away while trying to kill Spot. Ahhhhhh! Being judged by your family for what you have or have not accomplished. Nooooo!!! Spot the human eating a giant beetle. EEeeeww!!

The berry-induced hallucination scene was so disconnected that it made me wonder what those guys at Pixar had been smoking. Awesome!!

But, I still kind of liked it, although I tried not to. And, I may or may not have cried... 4 times.
To be honest, I only cried three times in the movie, and then once more when the kids wanted to see it again!

The kids liked it, and that is worth 5 stars!!

3.) I purchased the good dinosaur to watch with my 2 & 4 year old daughters 4 nights ago. Since purchasing it, they have watched it everyday since. I personally have seen it 3 times, and have watched it from start to end almost all 3 times. Needless to say we really like the movie.

What's to like.... The graphics are amazing. Some of the scenes showing the river look real. It's a great storyline for kids. It teaches perseverance, how to overcome your fears, and the value of friendship. The characters are relatable and likable. You root for Arlo the whole way through the movie, grow to love spot and how he befriends and protects Arlo, and enjoy the other great friends Arlo meets along the way especially the T-Rex Cowboys!

What's not to like....I can only think of twice in the movie where I didn't feel the content was appropriate for my young ones and those were the two times animals were eaten. The part where Spot bites off the head of the Beatle was a little graphic for young audiences. Also the part where the vulture eats the critter following the storm. My girls didn't seemed to be phased by either scene but I was a little surprised by them.

Overall this is a movie that the whole family will enjoy. You won't be disappointed.
