The Last Kingdom season 2

1.) Description (Editorial Reviews)

  • Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) is still recovering from fighting a defining battle that saved Wessex for King Alfred (David Dawson) but which came at a huge personal price. Mourning for those he has lost, Uhtred begins a voyage north to reclaim his own fate: to avenge Earl Ragnar's death and recapture his ancestral lands. Alfred's conviction to create a united England is stronger than ever and he sets his sights on the wild lands of the north, which have fallen into chaos and rebellion. It is a dangerous time for Saxon and Dane alike but Alfred champions a new king – a Christian Dane – to unite the tribes. Uhtred is faced with questions of fate and duty as he continues to fight for the country of his birth, against the people of his upbringing. With a newfound love, it seems he may finally be on his chosen path but in times of rivalrous factions, bloodshed and shocking betrayal Uhtred is tested like never before.

1.) Well I just watched the entire season in a night, and now it is morning. That alone speaks to this show's magnetism.

The Last Kingdom, since around halfway through season 1, has developed some of the most dynamic characters in any show now on. Characters you've hated you will love, characters you've loved you will grow to hate.

The standout accomplishment of this season is the development of Uhtred of Bebbanburg, the main character and protagonist. Whereas in season 1 I felt he was one of the least interesting characters who served only as a device by which to highlight the conflict between Dane and Saxon, this season he has proven a heroic, admirable, tough, and dynamic character. Rather than his character changing based on seemingly fleeting relationship-based allegiances to a particular Dane or Saxon, he is molded by powerful experiences that grant a deep insight into who this character is internally.

This season; Eric Thurgilson, Halig, Odda, Father Beocca, Uhtred, and others undergo fascinating changes that will grab your attention, force their way into your sympathies, and give you a fantastic character based experience not offered by any show currently on television.

2.) Uhtred is back, with more enemies than ever, and lots of political intrigue this time around. He has battles of a different kind as everyone suspects him, and just as what he wants most seems to be so close, his home of Bebbanburg, it all gets snatched away by treachery. He grows and matures in this season through his experiences; the irony is Alfred is the one who can't see it because he is so obsessed with his idea of what it is to be a good man. Uhtred saves people this season more than slays them, but there is still enough fighting for fans to keep things interesting. The whole issue with Mercia too is quite interesting and one Uhtred gets caught up in through no fault of his own. Everyone tries to manipulate him and he tries to sort truth from lies. He also keeps 2 big secrets from Alfred, when he could create chaos by revealing them. Athelwold is as smarmy as ever, so we can be pretty sure who the real traitor is, and yet once again, he changes his mind about the path he is taken, but not before a lot of good people make huge sacrifices. His boast about wearing a clean tunic for a change made me laugh-as if that is why he deserves to be king now. Great TV, ad now I am miserable because I have to wait a whole year for another season. One minor quibble-Hild. She was in serious battles last year and was like Joan of Arc in a nun's habit, so I am not sure why they made her all girlie with no ability to fight (with a sword) this time around when she was at Ethadun, and the idea sort of goes nowhere in the end and then she is not involved in the main action at all after a few shows even though she is such a strong character. But loved the new character additions Finan and Sihtric. Must see TV.

3.) Uhtred son of Uhtred is back!
The production value is even higher than Season 1 (e.g. the Lunden set).
This is some of the best historical fiction on TV.
The fight sequences are awesome and visceral.
The acting is fantastic.
You get to see Uhtred as a friggin' galley slave.
Yeah, 95% of it is completely made up. Who cares?
Bring on Season 3!

1.) Edit** : In the fine print, it states, "New episodes of the TV show will become available as soon as possible after their original network air date (usually the following day)." So, hopefully within one day of the air time. Hope this clears up the confusion!

Obviously I haven't watched season 6 yet because it has not aired yet. For everyone whining that they paid 30$, yes, I know, I also paid 30$ and if you read 'Amazon Video' BEFORE you purchased, you would clearly see written out that the episodes will be released after it has aired on TV. The episodes will air every Wednesday at 8/9c. So stop giving this amazing show 1 star reviews for your failure to read.
Suits is one of the best TV shows I've seen. I've watched seasons 1 through 5 twice because I like it that much. Amazing characters, well-thought out plot lines and script, I can't wait to see where this season will go. Great show, highly recommend! And that's coming from someone who never watches TV shows..

2.) It is the banter that make this entertaining.
The actors are convincing.
The story line is entertaining.
But, the banter has many references
and sub references.
That alone can keep a person busy.

3.) It is still as well written as it was in season 1 and that is so difficult for an ongoing show. I really like the way the characters interact with each other. The character of Louis Litt is a cross between comedy and high drama. It is a tribute to the actor who plays him. All the actors and actresses give one hundred and fifty per cent of themselves every time.

Customer Review

1.) I found "Once Upon a Time" by accident, back in 2013, while I was reviewing what has been released in television over the past couple of years and the storyline intrigued me. So after picking up Season 1 years ago, I have become a fan of the series and look forward to seeing each new season. This year shows a tremendous amount of growth in both the storyline and in the characters as I have seen and believe that they have become much more intriguing and involved. I really enjoyed this season, really.
However, this season has started off on a very solid footing. The storylines are really solid. Even a mellowed-out Provenza is a good thing, I guess.

2.) love this series. only issue is that i have to wait a long time between the end of a season until the next one comes out. robert carlisle does a fantastic job. if you love fairy tales and fantasy with a twist, this is for you!

3.) Fantastic SiFi Series also bought season 4 at the same time and already have the 1st 3 Seasons .

The 100 Seasons 4

1.) Description (Editorial Reviews)

  • The fight to survive has torn The 100 apart, turned them against each other, and taken the lives of their closest friends. Last season, our heroes found themselves at the epicenter of both the Grounder world and the struggle for Arkadia’s soul. Despite their best efforts, war appeared unavoidable, until a new, even more dangerous threat – one that had been quietly rising all along – exploded to the surface: ALIE, the A.I. that ended the world, offered relief from pain and eternal life in the “City of Light.” But as her ranks grew, it quickly became clear that she was building an army dedicated to controlling all sentient life on Earth. This was no longer a battle between warring factions; it was a fight for humanity itself. Now, a hard truth lands on the shoulders of those who remain. Will they go quietly into the night, or will they find hope and faith in each other, as they face their darkest chapter yet?

2.) Special Features

  • If you stick with it from the very beginning, the story and characters are well developed as a starting point and you will see this is not just some Syfy crap and you don't like Syfy anyway, it's for kids, you will see that it is more entertaining then the reworked over and over, prime time shows. It is an adult drama with deep rich characters, story lines easy to keep together because they masterfully smooth the transition from one seasons story arc to the next seasons. You are not left shaking your head going "what or where did that come from." The writing is very engaging, doesn't insult your intelligence, and keeps all the different clans complete and striking on their own. It is reminiscent, too me, of the writing in Defiance (still miss that one.) It's nice to have adult Syfy that is mature, engaging, well written and amazingly creative from top to bottom.

Customer Review

1.) This show is amazing! When I first started watching, I had no idea I would become as invested in it and passionate about it as I am. The storytelling is cohesive, thought-provoking, and fantastic, while the acting is top-notch. Every episode feels like a cinematic experience. It's a shame it doesn't seem to get the recognition it deserves since it's on the CW. The network should most definitely promote it more, as it's one of the finest shows on TV and definitely one of the most interesting sci-fi shows of all time.

2.) At the heart of The 100 is its characters, most all of whom are extremely well-developed, consistently written, and delightfully flawed. Bob Morley and Eliza Taylor, in particular, shine as Bellamy Blake and Clarke Griffin, respectively, the male and female leads of the show. Together they form the backbone of a complex cast of characters. Both Bellamy and Clarke are intriguing, interesting characters in their own right, characters who manage to flip typical gender roles and expectations upside down. While Bellamy is passionate, vulnerable, and often openly emotional, Clarke is far more rational and pragmatic. Their relationship together is one of the most unique and beautiful relationships to ever cross the small screen. Between Morley and Taylor exists such a strong chemistry that even the slightest eye contact can send fans into a squealing frenzy. They are complemented by other strong and intense characters, such as warrior Octavia Blake and braniac Raven Reyes, both superbly played by Marie Avgeropoulos and Lindsey Morgan. Richard Harmon is a sarcastic delight in the role of the snarky John Murphy, and Devon Bostick shines as one of the show's most criminally underrated characters, Jasper Jordan.

3.) I keep loving this show. It's better than it has any right to be, or at least that's what I used to think. By season 4, it's just that good. I just read a while back that season 5 is on the way. Who knew that the CW would be the network to be most faithful to the types of shows I love?
